He learned how to craft his own bows, arrows, and bowstrings under the tutelage of Art Young, the legendary bowhunter.  In just six years, the business grew so much that Bear had to dedicate himself to it full time.

The Bear Pledge

The Bear company has pledged that each Bear bow, no matter how big or small, will be utterly reliable, intensely lethal, and most of all capable of following an ethical shot with the nobility of a quick, moral kill.  The pledge has been the same for the past 80 years, and will never change.

Bear Arena 34 Compound Bow

Several types of bows can be found in the Bear product line, including compound, traditional, and youth bows.  One of the latest “super deluxe” compound bows is the [easyazon_link identifier=”B00O8D294U” locale=”US” tag=”astraightar0d-20″]Bear Arena 34[/easyazon_link], known as “big brother” to the Arena 30.  Weighing only 4 pounds, this bow’s axle-to-axle length is 4 inches longer, but still does not compromise shock, vibration, and noise; It offers an ideal balance.  The company believes the Arena 34 is excellent for the ground and 3-D hunter.  It includes some of Bear’s latest technology, including 2015 H15 Hybrid Cams.  These cams have a draw length that is adjustable in half-inch increments, from 25.5 inches to 31 inches, and there is no need to press the bow or change modules.  One of the biggest selling points of this bow is the “sweet spot” where high speeds intersect with smooth shooting.

Below are additional features of the Bear Arena 34:

The draw is smooth at its peak while the bow still maintains a good amount of stored energy.  It also features top and bottom offset string suppressors. Zero Tolerance limb pockets are made to minimize vibration and absorb extra space.  A hinge guard system in the middle of the riser lessens tension on the cables during the draw cycle, and increases accuracy.  The hinge moves forward when the bow is drawn which reduces torque, and swings out when the string is released which provides good clearance.  The riser is designed using precision-machined aircraft grade aluminum, making the bow durable, lightweight, and reliable.  Bear removable grips enable you to change from side plate to over moulded grip style and match your hand position to your situation. The bow is designed so that it is easy to carry when you are stalking, easy to get through scrub, and still lethally accurate.  Draw weight ranges are from 40-50lbs, 50-60lbs, and 60-70lbs, and bows are adjustable 10lbs down from the peak draw weight.  This compound bow has right and left-hand models.
